What is Vaginal Atrophy, Exactly?
Vaginal atrophy is a thinning of the vaginal and vulvar skin, accompanied by dryness and loss of elasticity. Same changes that affect vaginal and vulvar skin also affect urethra and bladder wall.
It will feel like:
- Vaginal dryness and itchiness
- Uncomfortable or downright painful sex
- Loss of sexual satisfaction – orgasms are harder to achieve and shorter
- Discomfort after sex and possibly light bleeding during or after sex
- A change in vaginal odor and constant or on and off itchy or burning sensation or both
- Sagginess and loss of laxity of the delicate vulvar and vaginal tissues – it just does not feel the same as it used to
- Increased urinary infections after sex or for no reason
- Loss of urinary control – Leaking urine when exercising, or with coughing or sneezing, jumping maybe even sex
- Urgency and need to constantly run to the bathroom
- Loss of urinary control on the way to the bathroom
- Going to the bathroom very often – need to stop the car when driving long distances or needing to go to the bathroom within 30 minutes of previously voiding
- Getting up at night to void at least 2 times or more (over 4 times in severe cases).
All these symptoms affect a woman’s quality of life. Things that used to bring you joy are now causing you discomfort or pain: riding a bike, jogging, prolonged sitting and especially sexual intercourse.

How does the MonaLisa Touch restore vaginal health?
The MonaLisa Touch is an advanced fractional CO2 laser that safely and effectively treats vaginal dryness and vaginal atrophy. The laser is gently inserted into the vagina, where it delivers laser energy to vaginal wall tissues.
The laser stimulates production of new collagen and elastin in the vaginal wall, and increases blood flow in vaginal tissues. As a result, vaginal tone, texture, and lubrication improve, normal function is restored, and vaginal atrophy symptoms are relieved.

What should you expect during and after MonaLisa Touch treatment?
The laser treatment is quick lasting only about five minutes and will be done with topical anesthesia, to provide maximum comfort. It is very well-tolerated by most women. You may experience slight redness or swelling after the procedure, but you won’t need downtime to recover.
Complete healing may take a few days. Dr. Mirela Cernaianu gives you specific instructions about avoiding sex or other activities while you heal.
Major improvements may be seen after one session, but optimal and lasting vaginal and urinary health is achieved with 3 treatment sessions performed six weeks apart. After that, women usually need one yearly treatment to maintain the results.
Cost is $700 per treatment OR $1900/3 sessions

The great thing about this procedure is there is NO downtime needed! But be aware that you might experience some mild inflammation or swelling, which is due to the increase in blood circulation and tissue coagulation. As these side effects subside and new tissues begin to form, you can experience benefits in 2 to 4 weeks.
How many treatments will I need?
While you will likely achieve results after one TempSure Vitalia session, in most cases Dr. Cernaianu recommends having 3-5 treatments for those who have more complex vaginal laxity concerns. To ensure your improved intimate health continues to last, Dr. Cernaianu also recommends coming into Hera Healthcare once or twice a year for maintenance TempSure Vitalia treatments.
Cost is $650/treatment OR $1800/3 sessions OR $2500/5 treatments

Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is a common problem, affecting to some degree close to 50% of women who have given birth. Before ProlapLase® there were only two solutions available: supporting pessaries and surgical methods, both of which have been associated with problems and high levels of adverse effects.
Promising clinical results
The latest scientific results presented by Dr. Urska Bizjak-Ogrinc and Dr. Sabina Sencar clearly show that Fotona’s novel thermal laser treatment is an effective and safe noninvasive option for the treatment of POP (pelvic organ prolapse):
The average prolapse grade was significantly reduced already after the first session.
The prolapse continued to improve with further sessions.
Treatment discomfort was very low and patient satisfaction high (median 4 on 1-5 scale).
There were no adverse events reported.

ProlapLase® is an innovative and unique non-invasive Er:YAG laser alternative for the treatment of POP. It utilizes the gentle, nonablative photothermal effects of Fotona’s SMOOTH mode to tighten the tissue and contract the vaginal canal. Preliminary clinical studies show that it is an efficient, easy-to-perform and safe procedure.
